Column Editing in Notepad++

Notepad++ is a great, free, text editor with some pretty snazzy features. I have been using it for a couple of years now. You can download it here. I found a cool little shortcut in Notepad++ that enables you to do column mode editing:

Alt + [left mouse drag]

Nifty!

Nice find. Just wanted to mention that I think it allows column-selecting, not column-editing. e.g. We can't add a line just in the column. Now *that* would be nifty.

Update:

NotePad++ now has full column editing. It allows column text selection/insertion of text (what ever you type) or insertion of increasing numeric sequence with padding options.

Yes, it is fantastic.
